The Bridge Patient Portal development team just released three new product updates that are aimed at helping you better customize the portal for your patients’ needs. Additionally, the patient health portal compatibility is growing. While Bridge Patient Portal has direct interfaces to over 10 EHRs*, including Allscripts™, McKesson and PrognoCIS™, this now includes NextGen®. Learn more about our updates and features below.
Customized Patient Health Portal Homepages
Patient portal admin users can now select and reorganize which widgets patients will see on their homepages. Some of the widget options available include “Medical Records,” “Lab Results,” “Wellness Tracker,” and “Prescriptions.”
Age of Majority
We now automatically unlink accounts based on the age of the majority of the children’s state. When a minor reaches age of majority (age varies state by state), the caregiver will receive a few warning messages beforehand with instructions on how to give the minor direct access to their account.
Immunizations
On the Immunizations page in the Medical Records module, patients will now see a graph with taken and recommended immunizations for children. The graph will also display a timeline to track the following:
- Past immunizations
- When immunizations will be due next
- Which immunizations are overdue
Expanded Interface Capability
Bridge is now able to offer NextGen® users a unique solution, ideal for healthcare organizations using one or more EHRs besides NextGen® or simply users seeking a feature-rich, lower-cost option.
The bi-directional interface between Bridge Patient Portal and NextGen’s® EHR was built according to HL7 standards and using Bridge’s API. Features available for the patients of NextGen users include:
- Viewing, downloading, and sending medical records online
- Online appointment requests
- Upcoming/past appointments with notifications
- Secure messaging with physicians and staff
- Medical records transmitted according to the C-CDA standard.
More to come in Q4!
The Bridge Patient Portal team continues to provide new updates to provide the best patient portal experience possible. Stay tuned for more features releases, including new EHR interfaces and native mobile device support later this year.
